Mason went to his first Husker tailgate and football game yesterday. I was a little nervous about taking him but he loved it. During the tailgate he kept asking when we were going to the football game and didn't really enjoy the pregame party - give him time he'll understand why that's so important later on in life. I thought he might make it through the first quarter before getting restless but he stood on my lap and watched the game, cheered for the Huskers and clapped with the band the entire first half. The only thing that would have made it more perfect was if Daddy could have been there with us. During the third quarter he didn't want to be held anymore and we decided to go back to the tailgate. He wasn't ready to leave the game and cried "bye bye game" as we left the stadium. He probably would have made it through the whole game if there was room for him to walk around. Hopefully it will work for Mason and Daddy to go to another game this year. For the record, the Huskers struggled the whole time we were there but as soon as we left started playing better and beat San Jose State 35-12.
